day – 90 : A

D
day
- 1 : The
different Chapters, such as Lorraine, Dijon, Alsace,
North, Armoric and Cannes arrived at Jean Mari's place,
at the "Village de Fabulite"
where
the evening meal was organized.
As
some participants where celebrating the reunion other where
getting to know each another. Some
reasonably decided to go to go to bed, because for them the road
was long; as
|

for
example the guys from Dijon. It took them
12h !!! to join us... For other, the road was difficult,
as for the
guys from Lorraine who drove in the rain. What could be more
natural in fact for them... (reference: New Letter N° 19
09/98).
The party went on until late in the night at the Lancier, in
Antibes. Kind of HQ for the Antibois (the guys from Antibes). |
| D
day :
Sunday
April 30 in the early morning in
Nice
hambourg. |
|
The
morning sun heated already the beautiful mechanics
wisely parked along the quay forecasting a
splendid
day. After
having seriously fears a strike from
the maritime company, it is in all quietude that the
participants in this ride
around the
Islands had breakfast (with the local
news paper: Nice-Matin!!!), nicely arranged by Eric with
nickname "
Castafiore ", tenor of the Opera of Nice and a
Chapter
member. |
|
In a few moments the 43 Harley and 65 people were going to leave
the continent and to begin the Great Escape: good-bye the
Office, hello the Adventure... |

|
|

|
The crossing on board of the superb "lle of
Beauty" was similar to the ones of the "Love
Boat"...
The crew was really charmed by our "happy" troop and
the commander, himself celebrated officially a promise of
marriage. |
|
Already the mountainous coasts of Corsica were profiled and the
duration of the crossing, 6 Hours, passed like a flash.
A few minutes after the arrival in Bastia, all the bikes were
ready to hit the road in direction of the Gulf of Favonne. |
 |
 |
The evening meal was animated and fun.
Some pretty independent houses were proposed to us for a first
night under the Corsican sky. |
|

|
The following day, May
1st, we went to Bonifacio. A splendid citadel city
posed on beautiful cliffs. |

|
| On
board of Jacques'
boat (our sympathetic guides), we had a very enriching visit of
the creeks.
