Soon we were entitled to a big anguish; imagine that an electric
breakdown deprived to us during a few hours of "the 200
Watts sound system " of our good old Rogers' Electra; our
mentor! our metronome of good mood deprived of music it was
inconceivable and fortunately fixed very quickly. And on the
beach leading to Propriano our good Rogers delivered a concert
to us, which would have turn pale all the fans of Johnny Hallyday. |
|
Just the time to buy some beautiful memories objects in
Bonifacio (Corsican knives) and we went on a superb pink sand
range in a gulf of dream for a pick nick. |
 |
 |
Then we went to Propriano, and stayed in Olmeto in an
idyllic hotel, with a direct access to a privet beach with sight
on the gulf of Propriano. |
|
It was nice to relax on the beach and to see the sun set with a
nice cold drink.
The dinner went on late in the night in a superb dining
room decorated in vaults and coated with quicklime.
The first ones who went to bed had the priviledge of a
"good night kiss" (around 3 am!!!) |

|
While
some had fun... |

... others
where working. Thank you Cruchot!
|
|

A
lion on the evening... |

...
a fathead, on the morning! |
|
Every body well appreciated sleeping late on Saturday morning.
Then meal on the beach, with the visit of a shovelized couple of
bikers, in honeymoon, which took the aperitif with us.
|
 |
 |
Followed the creeks of Piana (pronounced piane in Corsica)
a fairy-like site of an incredible beauty. |
|
The pernicious fine gravels were worth a fall from Jean
Paul, fortunately without consequences.
Happy and filled
by these magic landscapes, we gained Ajaccio, where our
boat was waiting for us... |
 |
 |
...
whose crew was delighted to find us one more time.
Orchestra and relaxed evening followed. The humming and
welcoming cabins charmed more than one, after all these
peregrinations. |
 |
 |
Sunday, in the early morning, we reached the continent, the head still
full with enchanted images.
The sky being threatening (extremely rare on the French Riviera), it was
the occasion to have a long breakfast at the "Festival";
ritual Chapter's check point.
|
|
Then came the ride in the back country of Nice.
The lunch took place at the Pont de Clans where the
landlord had organized us a very appreciated home made
meal.
The threatening weather (extremely rare... But I
have already said this...), invited us to regain
Nice where a nap was welcome ...
|
 |
 |
|
...
before the last
evening at the "Texas Truck". A place directly from route 66. Tex-Mex
meals, drinks,
live country music, and show were on the program.
The liters of drink containing hop, ran out until late in
the night. We did not want to leave each another.

Of this human adventure will remain the memory of an INCREDIBLE 9
days ride, which will remain engraved forever in the spirit of each
participant. The friendly agreement of all the protagonists as well as
the excellent organization of the Chapter, succeeded in binding a real
link of friendship between all the actors of this ISLANDS' TOUR 2000,
and many guys promised themselves meet again in 2001, on the Tunisian
roads or elsewhere.
We make a point of thanking with much friendship each participant,
Claude and Jacky for their pictures, as well as the sponsors (H.O.G.
France, H-D Factory, Deutsch Compagnie, the Electro-Alpes, Cofragel, Ets
Dalbera, Nice roulement) who contributed to the success of this event
and the well-known friendship of H.O.G. members.
